"May we invite you to take a walking tour of historic Cooperstown with us on your next visit?"  From the legendary hotels to the courthouse to the ancient churches to the banks of the storied Susquehanna River and to the “homerun alley” just outside Doubleday Field, CooperstownWalks! is committed to offering the most interesting way to see the sights of this natural and historic gem.

Bassett Hospital, the area’s largest employer, has kept the “light on in the cupola” every night for generations. Why? Who is buried in those odd looking “Indian Mounds?” There are only three copies of the famed “Indian Hunter” sculpture in America. Why is one of them in Cooperstown? What is the significance of “Council Rock?” How many different architectural styles can you pick out among the lovely old homes along the walk? What is Kingfisher Tower? When was the first member of James Fenimore Cooper’s family buried in Christ Church? When was the most recent (you will be surprised)? You’ll find all your answers on our CooperstownWalks!

Our tours run daily each year from Memorial Day to Columbus Day (special “winterwalks” can be arranged). The cost of each tour is $15 per person. These tours will fill up quickly so check your calendar, schedule your trip to Cooperstown, and (perhaps) while some members of your family or group enjoy themselves at the Baseball Hall of Fame or one of the other great museums in our town, you can join us for a fascinating guided historic walking tour through the village with CooperstownWalks!

If you would like to take a tour outside of our normal business season, just email us with details about your visit and we will try and accommodate you.
